The Bright Forever

1. This whole book you think one thing about who is responsible for hte death of Katie, but in the end it is a totally different person than you think. In the end of the book Mr. Dees and Raymond are driving around on a beautiful day on their way to let Katie drop off her library books after her bike chain had popped. After driving around for awhile the sun starts to set, and they end up in a corn field. I feel like at this point it is both Mr.Dee's and Raymond are at fault for doing this to Katie after she says that they passed the library. It is Raymond's fault mostly because when they are stopped Ray takes Mr.Dees hand and puts it on Katie. When he does this is, it makes it seem like Ray thinks it is okay to do stuff with this little girl. And then Ray drives off in the car with Katie. This then seems like it is Mr.Dees fault when he tries to get out of the car with Katie and Raymond ends up leaving with Katie in the car. Mr. Dees could have ended this by just taking her straight to the library or even by not letting her leave without of fight for her from Raymond. In the end of the book it can be blamed on two main people; Raymond and Mr.Dees.

2. The main way Lee Martin kept my attention was by using the different people to tell the story. It kept me interested because I felt like it kept the story going and did not stop after we found out what happened to Katie. With all the different people telling the story I feel like I can hear every aspect of the story and do not miss anything.
